How to check in tickets from your point of sale

Admit your guests, including large groups, straight from the point of sale, without a separate scanner or printing every ticket.

1. Set up a check-in configuration (once)

Before you can check in from a point of sale, link that point of sale to the area it admits guests to.

📌 How to access: app.smeetz.com > Account details > Access control > Check-in configurations

  1. Select Create a configuration.

  2. Set Surface to Point of sale.

  3. Choose the Area this point of sale admits to (one area per point of sale).

  4. Select the point of sale configuration it applies to.

  5. Save.

2. Check in a walk-up sale

When a guest buys and enters straight away:

  1. Complete the sale as usual.

  2. On the Order completed screen, select Check in.

  3. Confirm the guests present. Done.

✅ A green confirmation shows the tickets are checked in.

3. Check in a pre-booked order or a group

For a group or a guest who booked earlier (online or by phone with an invoice):

  1. Open the order. Either scan its QR code with the camera, or find it in the Orders list and select Check in.

  2. Each order shows a live checked-in / total count.

  3. For a group, use the quantity stepper to enter how many guests are present, then select Check in.

  4. You can check in the rest later, as more of the group arrives. The order stays open until everyone is admitted.

👉 Focus on groups: you do not need to print a ticket per guest. Open the one order and admit the whole group in a single action.

4. Understand the result of a check-in

  • Checked in - the guest is admitted, and the entry is recorded for your reports.

  • Already checked in - the ticket was used before. You will see when, and by whom.

  • Not for today - the ticket is valid for another date or session. It is skipped, not used, and shown separately.

  • Cannot be admitted - the ticket is not valid here (wrong area, wrong time, expired, or the order is not paid). The reason is shown so you can explain it to the guest.

Only paid, confirmed tickets can be checked in. Check-in needs an internet connection.

6. Undo a check-in

Made a mistake? A Manager or Seller Manager can reverse a check-in from the same page. The count updates and the change is recorded.
