Check in your guests, including large groups, straight from the point of sale. You do not need a separate scanning device, and you do not need to print a ticket for every guest.
1. Link your point of sale to an area (once)
Each point of sale checks guests in to one area. Link it once in the back-office.
📌 How to access: app.smeetz.com > Account details > Access control > Check-in configurations
Select Create a configuration.
Enter a Name, for example "Ticket desk".
Under Surface, select POS.
Choose the Area this point of sale admits guests to.
Scan mode is set to Entry.
Choose the POS configuration this applies to.
Select Save.
⚠️ If no area is linked, the point of sale shows "No area is linked to this POS" and check-in will not work until you set one.
2. Open an order to check in
On the point of sale, open Orders.
The Checked in column shows how many guests of each order are already in, for example 0/1.
Select Check-in on the order.
3. Check in a group, or part of it
The check-in page shows the area and the number of guests already checked in, for example "10/25 checked in".
Select the guests who are present, or use Select all eligible.
Select Check in selected. For a large group you are asked to confirm.
The rest of the order stays open. Come back to it when the other guests arrive.
With a scanner connected, you can also scan a guest's ticket on this page.
👉 Focus on groups: open the one order and check the whole group in at once. No need to print a ticket per guest.
Every check-in is recorded on the area of your point of sale ("Entries are recorded on ...") and appears in your reports.
4. Understand what you see
Checked in: the guest is admitted.
This ticket is already checked in: you see when, and by whom.
Not for today: the ticket is for another date. It is not used.
Cannot be checked in now: the ticket is not valid at this moment, for example because the time slot has ended.
This ticket does not give access to this area, Wrong date or time or No entry left on this ticket: the reason the guest cannot be admitted.
Only paid orders can be checked in.
5. Undo a check-in
If you checked in a guest by mistake, select Undo on that ticket. Undo is only available to users whose role allows it.
