Get a quick view of your point-of-sale performance, with valid tickets sold, net sales, and your best-selling channels, categories and products.
Who this is for
Primary: On-site operations and venue managers tracking point-of-sale performance.
Secondary: Finance and leadership reading net sales on an accounting (recognition-date) basis.
When to use it
See how your point of sale is performing on an accounting (recognition-date) basis, and which channels, categories and products drive your net sales.
Why use this dashboard
When you want a fast read on point-of-sale sales that lines up with your accounting view, this dashboard shows valid tickets, net sales and your top channels, categories and products for the period.
Access and default filters
How to access: app.smeetz.com > Analytics > Dashboards > POS Statistics
Date basis: the dashboard uses the sales recognition date (the accounting date a sale is recognised on), so figures line up with your accounting reports rather than the booking date.
How current the data is: the dashboard shows a Last data refresh time in its header.
Filter guide
Recognition date: the date filter for the whole dashboard, on the sales recognition (accounting) date.
Period over period: shows each figure next to the previous period of the same length.
Channel: show only sales from a chosen channel. To see point-of-sale tills only, set this to Point-of-sales.
Category: show only a chosen product category.
Product: show only a chosen product.
Visuals explained
Sales performance
Valid tickets: the number of valid tickets sold over the period. Cancelled tickets are not counted.
Net sales: your total net sales over the period (sales after discounts).
Average ticket basket: the average net sales value per ticket sold.
Average retail basket: the average net sales value per retail item sold (for example shop or food and beverage items).
Sales trends
Net sales over time (line): your net sales day by day across the period.
Valid tickets over time (line): the number of valid tickets sold day by day.
Sales breakdown
Net sales by channel: net sales split by where the sale happened (for example point of sale, online, or other channels).
Net sales by category (top 15): your 15 top-selling categories by net sales.
Sales by product (table): every product with its category, net sales and number of valid tickets sold, highest net sales first.
Example scenarios
How is the till doing this month? Set the recognition date to this month and read Net sales and Valid tickets with the period comparison.
What sells best? Open Net sales by category and Sales by product.
Point-of-sale only? Set the Channel filter to Point-of-sales.
Do these figures match accounting? They use the recognition date, so they line up with your accounting reports.
Data freshness
The Last data refresh tile shows the date and time the dashboard last received fresh data. Data is kept close to real time.
Known limitations
Recognition-date basis: figures use the sales recognition (accounting) date, so they can differ from dashboards that count sales on the booking or transaction date.
Figures are net (after discounts), so they can differ from gross figures (what customers paid including VAT) shown elsewhere.
The Channel filter covers all channels by default; set it to Point-of-sales to see only your tills.
