The capacity, demand and trends dashboard shows you how full your slots are, when demand peaks, and how many people actually turn up, so you can plan staffing, opening hours and availability.
Who this is for
Primary: On-site operations and venue managers planning staffing, opening hours and availability.
Secondary: Commercial and marketing managers reading demand timing and channel mix.
When to use it
Match staffing, opening hours and availability to real demand by seeing how full your slots are, when demand peaks, and how many people turn up.
Why use this dashboard
When you want to know whether you are filling your slots, when your busy times really are, and where there is spare capacity left to sell, this dashboard puts utilisation, attendance and demand timing in one place.
Access and default filters
How to access: app.smeetz.com > Analytics > Dashboards > D2 Capacity, Demand & Trends
Two date ranges: this dashboard mixes visit information (slots and scans) with purchase information, so it has a Slot date range and a Purchase date range. Each one only affects the matching tiles.
How current the data is: the dashboard shows a Last data refresh time in its header. Check that tile to see how up to date the figures are.
Filter guide
Slot date range: sets the period for slots, attendance, scans and capacity tiles (based on when the visit takes place).
Purchase date range: sets the period for the sales tiles (based on when the customer bought).
Venue: limits to a specific venue or location.
Channel: limits the sales tiles to one sales channel.
Activity / category: limits the slot and attendance tiles to one activity or category.
Period-over-period: adds a comparison; there is one for the slot tiles and one for the purchase tiles.
VAT Basis: switches sales figures between VAT-inclusive (default) and VAT-exclusive.
Visuals explained
Capacity and utilisation
Realized util %: for slots that have already taken place, how full they were (attended divided by capacity).
Forward util %: for upcoming slots, how full they are already (sold divided by capacity).
Available tickets: how much sellable capacity is still open across your slots.
Slots blocked by stock: the number of slots that could not be sold because a linked resource or stock item ran out.
Slots blocked by stock (%): the same, shown as a percentage of all slots.
Throughput and attendance
Valid tickets: the number of tickets that are valid (not cancelled) for the period.
Scanned tickets: the number of unique attendees who were scanned in.
Tickets per booking: the average number of tickets in each booking.
When demand happens
Demand by slot time (hour x day): a grid of valid tickets by day of the week and hour, showing your busiest visit times.
Demand by purchase time (hour x day): a grid of tickets sold by day of the week and hour, showing when customers tend to buy.
Peak hour by tickets (top 5): your five busiest purchase hours, ranked by tickets sold.
Distribution and activity breakdowns
Checked-in by channel (pie): your attendees split by the channel they checked in through.
Top activities by valid tickets (table): your activities ranked by valid tickets.
Capacity vs sold by activity (table): for each activity, future capacity, valid tickets and realised utilisation side by side.
Sales value and items sold over time (line): sales context alongside the capacity figures.
Example scenarios
When should I add staff? Open Demand by slot time to see your busiest visit hours and days.
When do customers actually buy? Open Demand by purchase time and Peak hour by tickets to time your campaigns.
Where is there spare capacity to sell? Read Forward util % and Available tickets, then Capacity vs sold by activity.
Did people show up? Compare Valid tickets with Scanned tickets and Realized util %.
Data freshness
The dashboard header shows a Last data refresh time. Check that tile to see how up to date the figures are.
Known limitations
Two date ranges: visit (slot) tiles and purchase tiles are driven by separate date filters, so check which one you are changing.
Realised utilisation depends on scanning: if attendees are not scanned in, Scanned tickets and Realized util % will understate actual attendance.
Sales figures are VAT-inclusive by default; use the VAT Basis filter to switch to VAT-exclusive.
