Every sale you make with Smeetz produces a receipt, whichever app it comes from. This article explains what a receipt contains, how it is numbered and titled, what happens when an order changes, and how to audit all your receipts in the receipt register.
1. One receipt format for every app
You can sell through four apps: Online (your widget and Discover Smeetz), the Self-service kiosk, the Point of sale (POS) and the Back office.
Your customers get the same document whether they bought online, at the kiosk or at your desk.
Section | What it shows |
Header | Your business name, VAT number, any registration number required in your country, address and phone number |
Title (Coming soon) | Signed fiscal receipt, Fiscal receipt or a copy |
Details | Date and time, operator initials, order reference (Ref) and receipt number |
Items | Description, quantity, Tax marker such as (1) or (2), and amount |
Totals | Total excluding tax, tax and total price |
Payments | Each payment method used, including negative lines for refunds |
Tax breakdown | For each tax rate: tax %, tax amount, amount excluding tax and amount including tax |
Footer | "Thank you for your visit" |
2. Fiscalized and non-fiscalized apps
In some countries, the law requires sales to be fiscalized: each receipt is digitally signed by a certified fiscal service, so it cannot be modified or deleted without detection. Receipts issued in fiscalized channels may also include additional mandatory fields, such as a QR code, the device ID, or any other information required by local regulations.
3. How receipt numbers are assigned
Every receipt gets a unique, sequential receipt number. Do not confuse it with the order reference (Ref), the code such as hkom8va58j that identifies the order in every app.
Fiscalized apps
The receipt number comes directly from the certified fiscal service, without any Smeetz prefix.
Non-fiscalized apps
Smeetz assigns its own sequential number, with a prefix showing which app issued it:
App | Number format | Covers |
Back office | BO-XXXXX | Booking view, Create a sale, booking and order imports, chatbot, OTAs and standalone sales |
Online | BC-XXXXX | Widget and Discover Smeetz |
Point of sale and Self-service kiosk | P + 3 letters from the device ID, for example PABC-XXXXXX | Smeetz POS and kiosk devices that are not digitally signed |
A receipt number is never reused, reassigned or replaced, even if the order is cancelled, reprinted or moved to another app.
4. Receipt titles (Coming soon)
The title at the top of the receipt is set automatically from the fiscal status of the app that issued it.
Situation | Receipt title |
Issued by a fiscalized app (digitally signed) | Signed fiscal receipt |
Issued by a non-fiscalized app | Fiscal receipt |
Reprint of either (Coming soon) | Original title + Copy, for example Signed fiscal receipt - Copy |
5. Receipts in the booking confirmation email
The booking confirmation email includes the link to download the receipt. This applies to every app that sends a booking confirmation email, so your customers never need to ask for their receipt.
6. How receipts follow changes to an order
One receipt for each operation
Every financial operation on an order issues its own receipt, with its own number: a payment, an additional sale, a partial or full cancellation, or a return. Smeetz never adds lines to a previous receipt.
All receipts of an order share the same booking reference and form a chronological trail. This works the same way in every app.
Step | Operation | Receipt |
1 | Customer buys 2 tickets | Receipt 1 |
2 | Customer adds a guided tour | Receipt 2, follows receipt 1 |
3 | Customer cancels 1 ticket | Receipt 3, follows receipt 2 |
Reprints and copies (Coming soon)
When you reprint a receipt or send it again, Smeetz does not create a new receipt number. The copy keeps the original number, refers to the original receipt and has Copy added to its title.
7. Use the receipt register (coming soon)
The receipt register lists every receipt issued by all your apps. Use it to audit your receipts and reconcile them with your orders.
📌 How to access: Accountings > Receipt register
The register shows one row per receipt. An order with several operations has several rows.
