This article explains how to install Zebra thermal printers to print tickets onsite.

1. Software installation

1.1. Zebra driver installation

Full procedure in this link.

IMPORTANT! Do not connect your printer to a computer yet!

  1. Download and install the recommended Windows Printer Driver v10. You can follow these guidlines.

  2. Optional - Download and install the Zebra Setup Utilities (ZSU) printer configuration utility, in case of issue it will help troubleshooting the set-up. More information here.

  3. Connect the printer to a USB port on your computer or POS and power up.

1.2. Printnode installation

  1. A first set-up has to be done first by Smeetz and this step is usually done during the Onboarding.

  2. Check that the printer is correctly connected to your computer on PrintNode. Make sure that the status is online.

If PrintNode shows offline, you can connect the printer by going on Windows Settings > search for Printers & Scanners > Refresh > Add device.

If your printer is not showing at all, please contact customer service for technical assistance.

2. Hardware installation

  • Thermal printer.

  • Power cord (2-part).

  • USB cable.

  1. Connect the printer to a USB port on your computer or POS and power up.

  2. Load media, in this case it is fanfold paper and that the paper is inserted correctly between the yellow guides following these steps:

    1. The black mark is face down:

    2. The black mark needs to be aligned with the yellow sensor. You can move the yellow sensor manually from left to right to match the ticket black mark.

    3. Place the ticket so that the black mark is towards you, (right before the opening) not towards the back of the machine.

3. Test your set-up

Note that you need to enable ticket printing and select the right printer in the settings on the POS to be able to print tickets.

  1. Login to the POS app.

  2. Make a simple order.

  3. Apply a cash payment.

  4. On the final page, click on Print & then Only tickets.

  5. The ticket should be printing.
