Cookie management policy

1. In General

1.1. Definitions. As a general rule, terms starting with an upper-case letter convey the meaning attributed to them in Art. 1 of the general terms and conditions otherwise in these terms and conditions 

1.2. Relationship with the general terms and conditions. This Cookie management policy applies in addition to the general terms and conditions and the Contractual Documentation and in particular the provisions of our privacy policy. In the event of divergence between the general terms and conditions and this Cookie management policy, the latter shall take precedence.

1.3. A table summarizing the cookies used by Smeetz is attached to this Cookie management policy.

 

2. Purpose

2.1. The purpose of this Cookie Management Policy is to inform Users about the type of Cookies used by Smeetz and certain third parties as well as how they are used.

2.2. In case of disagreement with the present Cookie Management Policy, the User can block the use of Cookies from his browser. In this case, it is possible that all or part of the Platform or the Services will be inaccessible or unusable.

 

3. Definition

3.1. Cookies are the equivalent of a small text file, stored on the access terminal (computer, tablet, phone, etc.), which the User uses to access the Platform.

3.2. Cookies are stored by Smeetz or by third parties on the terminals used by the User to consult the Platform. These cookies are used to collect information relating to the User’s browsing or to optimize/personalize his/her online experience.

 

4. Cookies - Issuers

4.1. Smeetz’s Cookies. These are Cookies set by Smeetz.

4.2. Third party Cookies.  These Cookies are set by third parties (such as Google, Facebook, Hubspot, Hotjar, etc.).

 

5. Cookies – Types and usefulness

5.1. Strickly necessary Cookies. Some Cookies are required for use of our Services. These are mainly Smeetz’s Cookies. These Cookies are used notably to grant the User secure access to the Platform, or to purchase a Ticket via the shopping cart.

5.2. Analytic Cookies. Some Cookies allow Smeetz to better understand how a User is using the Platform and how the Platform is performing. This is the case for both Smeetz’s Cookies and those of third parties. These Cookies allow Smeetz to recognize and count the number of Users of the Platform as well as determine how they use the Website or App. Smeetz can use this information to improve the Platform and the Services it provides.

5.3. Functional Cookies. Some Cookies are used to allow the Platform to display personalized content for the User, for example the display of the User's name and save said User preferences. Mainly Smeetz’s Cookies are used for this purpose.

5.4. Advertising Cookies. Some Cookies are used to display advertisements that correspond to the User's interests on the Platform or outside of it. These are mainly third party cookies, over which Smeetz has no control. 

5.5. Social network Cookies. Some Cookies are used to allow the User to connect to the Platform via social network plugins, or to share different content on said social platforms. These Cookies can also allow the display of personalized content on social networks. These are mainly third party cookies, over which Smeetz has no control.

5.6. Cookies used for secure payments. Some Cookies are used for making secure payments during Ticket purchases. These cookies are mainly third party cookies issued by Smeetz's financial partners. Smeetz has no control over these cookies.

 

6. Cookie Management

6.1. Users can configure the use of Cookies by choosing at any time to disable the use of some are all of Smeetz’s Cookies and/or those of third parties.

6.2. Cookies can be configured on each of the terminals used for browsing the Platform, depending on the procedures used for them on these platforms and their respective documentation.

6.3. It should be borne in mind that some Cookies are necessary for the use of certain services (Art. 5.1) and that disabling all or part of them may make it impossible to access certain services or to use them. 

6.4. Disabling Analytical Cookies (Art. 5.2) can result in preventing the User's browser from sending information to the issuers of said Cookies and should not, in principle, prevent the use of the Platform.

6.5. Disabling Functional Cookies (Art. 5.3) can prevent access to all or part of the Services offered by Smeetz. 

6.6. Disabling Advertising Cookies (Art. 5.3) can prevent displaying advertisements in connection with the User’s interests but has no bearing on displaying the advertising itself. Consequently, disabling this type of Cookie shall not prevent displaying advertising and does not, in principle, prevent use of the Platform.

6.7. Disabling Social Network Cookies (Art.5.5) in principle does not prevent use of the Platform but only access to certain services such as the sharing buttons on social networks.

6.8. Disabling Payment Security Cookies (Art.5.6) may prevent the use of certain Smeetz Services, for example purchasing Tickets.

6.9. Smeetz cannot be held liable for the use of data collected by third parties and/or for cookies stored by them. It is the User’s responsibility to manage Cookies in accordance with each issuer. For further information on Third Party Cookies, please refer to the Cookie Management Policy of each of these issuers.
