Set up reseller access

Give each of your resellers their own login to place orders at their negotiated prices, see only their own bookings, and pay by link or Swiss QR-bill.

Reseller access lets a partner, such as a tour operator, a tourist office or a hotel desk, sign in to your Smeetz back office and place their own orders at the prices you negotiated with them, without seeing anything else in your account.

👉 Not to be confused with Channels > Resellers. This article is about the Reseller role you give to a user in your team. Channels > Resellers is a different feature, used to let another organiser sell your products.

1. How it works

Three settings decide what a reseller can do:

  • The Reseller role limits them to creating sales and viewing their own bookings.

  • A sales collection defines what they can sell, and at which price.

  • Payment methods define how they can pay you.

Each reseller sees only the bookings they created themselves. They never see your other resellers, and they cannot change a negotiated price.

2. Before you start: create one sales collection per commercial tier

Instead of building a separate price list for every partner, group your resellers into a few commercial tiers. For example, one tier at 10%, one at 14% and one at 16%.

Create one sales collection per tier, holding your products at that tier's net price. You then attach each reseller to one collection.

A sales collection can now include individual prices, not only products and ticket categories. Each price is listed with its product and ticket category, so a tier is easy to check at a glance.

⚠️ A collection with no product and no price means the resellers attached to it cannot sell anything. Smeetz warns you when you save an empty collection.

3. Create the reseller user

📌 How to access: app.smeetz.com > your initials > Account details > Team > Create user

  1. Enter the reseller's email address.

  2. Choose Reseller as the role.

  3. Save. The reseller receives an invitation email and sets their own password.

There is no self-registration. A reseller account exists only because you created it, and removing the user revokes their access immediately.

4. Set what they can sell and how they can pay

Open the reseller in Edit user and set three things:

  • Sales collection: the tier this reseller sells at. One collection per reseller.

  • Payment methods: turn on each method this reseller may use. Pay by link and the Swiss QR-bill appear at the top of the list.

  • Allow pay later: when this is off, the reseller cannot save a booking that still has an amount to pay. Turn it on for partners you invoice afterwards.

✅ A new reseller starts with nothing enabled, so they cannot sell until you configure both the collection and the payment settings. Smeetz shows a warning while a reseller is not able to conclude any sale.

Changes apply the next time the reseller loads the page. You do not need to invite them again.

5. What your reseller sees

A signed-in reseller sees a simple ordering tool, not your full back office:

  • Their catalogue is the collection you assigned, at the prices you set.

  • They cannot edit a ticket price, and they cannot add a discount or an offer.

  • Their bookings list shows only the orders they created.

  • At checkout they see only the payment methods you allowed.

  • Once a payment link is paid, the booking is confirmed and the tickets are issued automatically.

You keep full visibility. From your own account you see every reseller booking, with the reseller shown in the Created by column.

6. What is not included yet

This first version covers ordering and payment. The following are not available yet and are planned for the full reseller feature:

  • Automatic commission calculation.

  • A separate VAT rate applied to the commission.

  • One consolidated invoice per reseller per period.

  • Several logins for the same reseller company.

  • A reseller dashboard and self-service access to invoices.
