Install extra RAM on your POS

This guide will allow you to easily and safely install an additional RAM stick on the POS.

Tips

  • Disconnect the device from any power source before starting the installation to minimize electrical risks.
  • Handle the SSD and RAM carefully to avoid any damage.
  • Ensure that all screws are properly tightened to prevent any internal component movement

Step 1: Opening the cover

Start by locating the two fasteners on either side of the screen (see the image for reference). Gently pull on these fasteners to release and open the protective cover.

Step 2: Unscrewing the screws

Once the cover is open, you will see three screws located under the screen of the cash register. Use an appropriate screwdriver to remove them. This will allow the front part of the screen to be detached.

Step 3: Removing the SSD

With the screws removed, you can now take out the SSD (recognizable by its green color). This step is necessary to unclip the screen.

Step 4: Unclipping the screen

After removing the SSD, you can unclip the screen from the POS. This will give you direct access to the RAM slots.

Step 5: Installing the RAM

Before inserting the RAM, check the correct alignment of the notches. Then, carefully insert the new RAM stick into its slot.

Step 6: Reassembly

Once the RAM is installed, follow these steps to reassemble:

  1. Reattach the screen by placing it back in its original position.
  2. Put the SSD (green part) back into its slot, ensuring it is well-aligned and fully inserted.
  3. Re-screw the three screws removed earlier to secure the screen and SSD. Make sure to tighten them firmly but not excessively to avoid damaging the components.
  4. Finally, close the cover and make sure it is securely fastened to ensure the protection of the internal components.
