Before starting you need to plug in a keyboard and a mouse to the POS to be able to configure the customer-facing display.
1. Windows configuration for second tablet screen
Plug in the customer-facing screen to the POS (on the left port).
Go to settings ⚙️ .
Click on System > Display .
Scroll down up to “Multiple screen” (”Ecrans multiples” in FR) → Select “Extend” (”Etendre ces affichages” in FR).
Click on Confirm.
You should now be able to see 2 different screens on the 2 monitors now.
Go to “Peripherals” (”Périphériques” in FR).
In the Windows search bar, type “Calibrate” (EN) or “étalonner” (FR) and click on “Etalonner l’écran pour la saisie…”
A message “Click on this screen to identify it as the touch screen…” will appear:
Click on the touch screen.
(If this message “Click on this screen to identify it as the touch screen…” appears on the customer-facing screen, it might be because you have selected the “2. FEC Monitor” in the screenshot above.)
Click on Calibrate or Etalonner in FR:
A white screen with blue lines will appear, with a cross on the top right. Click on the cross and repeat this as many time as the cross moves around the screen, so the touch screen is well calibrated.
Click on OK to save the changes.
You should be good to go to set up the second screen.
2. Launch the customer display
Refresh your POS configuration, by clicking on the loading arrow on the top of the POS.
Click as shown on the picture below to activate the Smeetz customer Display.
3. Display an image when the customer-display is off [Optional]
You can now add an additional tab to the second screen, which will be displayed for customers:
Choose a welcome image, search for or select a welcoming picture you’d like to display.
Open the image, in a new browser tab or download it.
Move it to the customer-facing display:
Use a mouse to drag the window to the second screen, or
Use your keyboard: press Windows + right arrow or Windows + left arrow to move the window to the correct display.
Set to full screen
Once the page is on the customer-facing display, press F11 to make it full screen.
You should be good to go!
4. Add a picture next to the Order summary [Optional]
Ask your account manager if you want to add a picture on the right side of the screen, next to the “Order summary” section
Order summary (basket) takes up 35% of the screen space Illustration 65% of the screen space
The size of the illustration will depend on the size of the customer display screen.

5. Common set-up issues and how to fix them
1. Main screen not responding
If, after following the steps above, the main screen becomes unresponsive to taps (each tap shows only a grey circle on the customer display), connect a physical keyboard and continue with the same settings.
Once the physical keyboard is connected, the screen should become responsive again. You can then reboot the POS, unplug the keyboard, and it should continue working normally.
2. Client can’t see the feature
For the feature to work, the client must plug in the second screen. Otherwise, the option “Open Customer Display” will not appear.
Performing a hard reload can also help, clicking on the view button on the top left hand corner of the POS window.
3. Main screen working only via mouse (not touchscreen)
If the main screen is no longer functioning as a touchscreen and only works with a mouse:
Step 1: Identify the touchscreen display
Press
Windows + R
, typeControl Panel
, and hit Enter.Go to Hardware and Sound > Tablet PC Settings.
Under Display, click Setup.
Follow the on-screen instructions:
Touch each screen when prompted to identify which one is the touchscreen.
If the wrong screen is responding, proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Configure the correct touchscreen display
In Tablet PC Settings, click Calibrate.
Make sure the correct display is selected under "Display options."
If it's incorrect, change it to your main POS touchscreen.
Step 3: Check Display Settings
Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
Scroll down to Multiple displays and ensure that the primary display is correctly set (usually the POS screen).
If needed, click on your main touchscreen and check Make this my main display.
Step 4: Check Device Manager
Press
Windows + X
and select Device Manager.Expand Human Interface Devices.
Look for HID-compliant touch screen (there may be multiple).
Right-click on each one and select Enable, if disabled.
If needed, right-click and choose Update driver.
Step 5: Restart & test
Restart your system and test the touch functionality on the main screen.
If issues persist, try unplugging the second screen, configuring the first screen properly, and then plugging the second one back in.
