How to track QR code scans and ticket sales

This article explains how to track how many people scan a QR code displayed onsite and how many complete a ticket purchase.

The easiest and most effective method is to generate a custom URL with UTM parameters (e.g., utm_source=qr_affiche&utm_medium=offline) and use that link to create the QR code displayed at your venue.

This allows you to track in Google Analytics:

  • How many users scanned the QR code

  • How many visitors converted and completed a ticket purchase

What you’ll need

This data is not available directly in Smeetz, but it can be tracked using:

  • Google Analytics

  • Google Tag Manager (GTM)
