Install the Smeetz Pixel

This article will give you a better understanding of how to install Pixel Smeetz on your website.

To install the Smeetz Pixel, you need to copy and install the code we provide on your website. The Pixel will be activated automatically.

The Smeetz Pixel works with all technologies, whether your website is in WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, etc. 

However, our development team advises you to install the Pixel using Google Tag Manager.

Follow the steps below to copy and install the Smeetz Pixel on your website.

1. Where to find the Smeetz Pixel:

  1. Login to your Pro Smeetz Account.
  2. On the top bar, go to Settings > Smeetz Pixel
  3. In the "Install Smeetz Pixel" section, you will find the code to be copied. You can either install it yourself, or send it to your webmaster using the "Email to your developer" function.

2. Install Smeetz Pixel on your website with Google Tag Manager (recommended)

  1. If you have not yet installed GTM on your site, click here. Sign in to your Google Tag Manager account and choose your container.
  2. On the left bar, click "Tags" > "New".

  3. Click on "Tag Configuration".
  4. For the tag type, choose "Custom HTML", then name your tag.
  5. Copy the Smeetz pixel code into the HTML area.

  6. Below "Tag configuration", click "Trigger" to configure a trigger.
    To make the tag active on all pages, select the "All pages" option.

  7. Register the new tag.
  8. Back on the tags page, top right, click "Publish".

3. Installing the Smeetz Pixel on your site with Joomla

  1. Login to your Joomla account as administrator
  2. In the main navigation menu, select "Extensions" > "Templates" > "Models".
  3. Click on the name of your model and select "index.php" in the left side menu
  4. Paste the Smeetz Pixel code directly over the </body> tag.
  5. Click on "Save".

4. Installing the Smeetz Pixel on your site with Squarespace

  1. Login to your Squarespace account
  2. In the left-hand side menu, navigate to "Settings".
  3. In the "Web Site" section of the menu, navigate to "Advanced", then select "Code Injection".
  4. Paste the tracking code into the field "Header".
  5. In the upper left corner, click on "Save".

5. Wordpress

  1. Login to your WordPress account
  2. Install the Header & Footer plugin
  3. Paste the Smeetz Pixel code and inject it just after the tag is opened.
  4. Save the configuration

6. Wix

  1. Login to your Wix account
  2. Go to your "Site Manager".
  3. Click on "Tracking and Analytics"
  4. Click on "New tool" and choose from the drop-down list "Custom".
  5. Paste in the code Pixel Smeetz.
  6. Choose the corresponding domain if you have several domains
  7. Choose a name for your code
  8. Add a code to the pages: "All pages"
  9. Choose where the code snippet should be placed in the code of your site
  10. Click on "Apply"
