1. Functions of the POS

The point-of-sales allow organisers to sell tickets on-site. This way, customers who wish to attend an event or activity do not need to buy a ticket online and can go directly to the organiser.

Overall there are two functions for the POS.

  • At-the-door: this is for tickets that can be sold on-site before the start of the event or activity. This option can be used when:
    1. Customers walk-up to your event on the day
    2. Customers would prefer to pay with cash
    3. Elderly customers that experience difficulty booking online
    4. Generating more revenue by selling tickets on-site
    5. Customer would like to spontaneously bring another person
  • Invitation packages: these are the tickets you can send to customers as a gift. This option can be used when:
    1. Inviting a guest to the event/activity (e.g. friends of musicians performing at the venue)
    2. Inviting staff members
    3. Inviting VIP guests
    4. Rewarding loyal customers who attend events frequently
